| The history of the Wool Fabrics Company MAZOVIA S.A. dates back to the middle of XX century – a period of intense wool industry development in Tomaszów Mazowiecki. The company was established on the basis of the three large wool companies, owned by H.Landsberg, D. Bornstein and M. Piesch, which specialized in the manufacture and finishing of wool fabrics.
The dynamic development of the Company took place after World War II. Under the name "MAZOVIA" the Company has manufactured its products since 1964, when "Mazowieckie Zakłady Przemysłu Wełnianego" merged with "Tomaszowskie Zakłady Przemysłu Włókienniczego".
On 1 June 1995 the company was transformed into a joint-stock company, whose the only shareholder - until 27 February 1996 - was the State Treasury. After this date making the shares accessible to the third parties has been commenced and the Company has lost the status of a one-person joint-stock company of the State Treasury.
Over the span of last years the shareholder structure has undergone certain modifications. The declaration of bankruptcy of the Italian shareholder in 2004, who held the second largest block of shares, was a significant event. This fact paralyzed co-operation between shareholders for 3 years. In the middle of the current year the receiver representing the Italian shareholder sold his shares to Improve Reserch Consulting Sp. z o.o. company, which together with the block of shares held so far, has gained majority shareholder status.
One of the consequences of the ownership changes was the dismissal of the previous Management Board of the Company and creation of the new Management Board on 24 August 2007, composed of :
Anna Wyrzykowska - the Chairman of the Management Board of the Company
Andrzej Braksator - the Vice-Chairman of the Management Board of the Company.
The actions of the new Management Board are subject to the fundamental aim, which is to restore the economic meaning of the Company, to keep and gain new Customers and strengthen market position of the "MAZOVIA" brand.
